DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Presented by: Sara Cegelski\, Senior Training and Development Consultant\, HR Works \nThis course is inspired by the model of team dysfunction created by Patrick Lencioni in his book The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. Participants will have the opportunity to explore how one dysfunction brings about subsequent team challenges and to identify how these issues explore their own work groups. Experiential exercises will help the group to connect to every-day team dynamics\, and subsequent debrief discussions will enable them to develop solutions to improve team functioning. In this session\, participants will also review samples of structured tools to use in fostering increased participation in and commitment to team decision-making. \nLearning Objectives \n\nDescribe common team dysfunctions and their relationship to one another\nDevelop skills to build trust on the team\nBuild skills to address team conflict using a healthy\, productive approach\nSelect from a variety of tools appropriate for different stages of decision making in order to strengthen team commitment\nIdentify effective techniques to increase accountability among team members\nSet clear goals in collaboration with team members to focus their attention on team results\nCreate an action plan to address each area of dysfunction within participants’ own teams\n\nRegister here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

DESCRIPTION:Clinton County Workshop – Clinton County Mental Health & Addiction Services\nIn partnership with the NYSAFC\, PERMA will be sponsoring their upcoming 2021 Fire and EMS Behavioral Health Workshops: The Price We Pay. The increasing amounts of suicides\, alcoholism\, drug addiction\, and post-traumatic stress all need immediate attention. These regional trainings will examine the behavioral health issues faced by firefighters and emergency medical services personnel. \nLed by Past Chief Mike Healy (Central Nyack Fire Department) and Chief Jared Meeker (Lake Shore Fire District) each workshop will provide: \n\nAn overview of the behavioral health problems that fire/EMS personnel experience\nSkills necessary to recognize and help others who are struggling with mental health issues\nHow to monitor the health of fellow firefighters and EMS providers to prevent the negative results that could have a long-lasting impact on agencies\nIncreasing the overall retention and reducing burnout in these first responders\n\nRegistration is FREE for all PERMA Members.
